Technology and its innovative use has the power to change learning as we know it! Learning spaces are increasingly becoming digital, mobile, virtual and global. Students and teachers can learn anywhere, any time with chosen devices and tools to customize their learning on topics of their choice.
This presentation will share classroom stories and experiences where students are geographically and culturally isolated, illustrating how learning is becoming increasingly organic, collaborative and networked.
The physical and social barriers are breaking down and new learning spaces are being created beyond the classroom walls. Favourite online tools will be shared, their use demonstrated and the huge impact it is having on the classroom shared. These tools include google apps, google hangouts, voicethread, skype, collaborative documents, backchannels, Blackboard Collaborate, blogs, curation tools and many others that allow learning in both synchronous and asynchronous time. New skills and expertise are required for educationlists to successfully populate these spaces and these will also be discussed.
Bring along a mobile device in order to be able to use the backchannel and collaborative document that will be set up for this session.
