In this session we will look at the evolution of hardware and robotic technology for learning and the emergence of the maker movement in schools. . We will look at Lego WeDo, makey makey, raspberry pi, and arduino. We will explore programmable toys such as Sphero and also look at the role of 3D printing too!

We will explore how this hardware can be used in the classroom and how the new maker movement is evolving for schools across the globe. We will look at physical resources and ways to support their use and share good practice in the session.

We will discover what a 'maker space' is and I will share tips on how to set one up at your school at a reasonable cost and most of all be FUN!

This session will involve some hand on so get your hardware out and lets go!
